PROTECTING TOMORROW’S TIGERS TODAY

BEFORE THEY LOOK GOOD, THEY NEED TO BE SAFE.

MRS. K'S TIGER SAFETY EQUIPMENT PROJECT

There are jerseys to buy. There are uniforms to build. There are countless things a football program needs….

All things aside, to FKI, it is the Safety Equipment that takes priority.

With an Entire Team Addition (2027-2028 Freshman Tiger Team) There’s more heads to be put in buckets and chests/shoulders to be covered.

This could have cost over $30K!

BUT, Wouldn’t Ya’ Know It…

Coach Sutherland

went through ALL the existing equipment PIECE by PIECE!

ALL Equipment that was still serviceable STAYED & was Restored Accordingly! Equipment that was broken, battered or no longer appropriate to put on one of our players aka one of OUR TOWN’S YOUTH, was removed.

Then he did something equally important: He spent weeks, and countless hours and he searched for a financially responsible way to replace it.

The Immediate Protective-Equipment List

92 SHOULDER PADS $8,395.91

92 FOOTBALL GIRDLE $1,323.88

80 SETS OF KNEE PADS $415.20

TIGER SAFETY-EQUIPMENT GOAL: $10,134.99

FOR PERSPECTIVE ONLY

As a cost comparison - when looking ONLY

At a COMMON SPORT BRAND such as: Premium Riddell

A SINGLE ITEM on the list - Name Brand - and the total is 3X what we need.

92 SETS RIDDELL Shoulder Pads ONLY: $32,252.11

That $32,252.11 would only cover a single item and nothing else for the players or programs needs! so thank you Coach Sutherland!

RAISING MEN WHO KNOW HOW TO SERVE, PROVIDE, PROTECT, AND GIVE BACK

We believe growth happens when bold minds collide with purposeful teaching.

At FKI, we also believe that growth comes in many forms.

It can happen in a classroom | On a football field | In a weight room | At a community event
Or while helping someone who simply needs another set of hands.

Mrs. K is proud to say that Mountain Home High School Football is stepping up to the challenge—not once, not five times, but through monthly meaningful community service opportunities throughout the year which - who knows - maybe they can even become annual endeavors -

Yes, That means Summer too - Because lots of the Tigers ask for thins to do in SUMMER!

Because we are One Town. One Team.

Coach Sutherland didn't wait till august to start working with our young Student-Athletes, no Sir Yee.

He Stepped up, outside of paid hours and volunteered his time and efforts to meet with and encourage, and weight train our Tigers! It's dedication like that when no one is looking that builds integrity, the same reason our tigers continue to show up and ask about how they too can contribute in meaningful ways rather then selling stuff!

And we all know it takes a village to raise a child. We are not in the buisness of raising children are we? nope, infact We - this Town this Team - WE are Raising Young Men who will continue to prosper long after they leave then den.

Mountain Home takes that responsibility seriously by carrying it beyond the bleachers, beyond Friday night's lights, and beyond the scoreboard.

So when you see a Tiger out in the community, say hello.

Maybe they are helping build a bed so a child does not have to sleep on the floor.

Maybe they are painting a home for a widow.

Maybe they are helping at an animal shelter, cleaning up a neighborhood, supporting a local family, collecting coats, planting trees, or doing something entirely different that our community needs.

Whatever the project may be, the principle remains the same:

We do for others what we would hope someone would do for us and for our own.

And when these young men show up to do good, we acknowledge it.

We praise it.

We take note.

We cheer them on.

Because sometimes one word of encouragement is enough to reinforce a lesson.

Sometimes being recognized for doing the right thing is exactly what makes a young man choose to do the right thing again.

And one day, somewhere down the road, that same Tiger may be the person who sees someone struggling and decides to step in—simply because somebody once taught him that this is what good men do.

This is bigger than service hours.

This is about building character.

This is about teaching responsibility.

This is about creating young men who understand that strength is not only measured by how hard they can hit.

Sometimes strength is measured by how willing they are to help.

One Town. One Team. One generation teaching the next what it means to give back.

NOW WE GET TO GIVE BACK TO THEM

These young men are stepping up for Mountain Home.

Now we have an opportunity to step up for them.

Mountain Home has enough young players coming up to build the freshman football team.

We have the kids.
We have the coaches.
We have the work ethic.
We have the foundation.

What we still need is the gear.

And not just gear for the sake of filling a locker room.

We are talking about the equipment that allows a young player to begin learning the game at the level he should be playing—against other freshmen—while he develops strength, confidence, technique, discipline, and the physical maturity needed for JV and Varsity football.

That first year matters.

It is where they learn the weight room.

It is where they learn the routes.

It is where they learn how to hit correctly.

It is where they learn how to take contact correctly.

And it is where they should be able to make mistakes, grow, and develop while wearing equipment designed to help keep them as safe as possible.

WE HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS TO BUILD THE TEAM.

NOW WE NEED TO PROTECT THEM.

Coach Sutherland has already done a tremendous amount of the hard work.

He did not simply look at the most expensive equipment and hand the community a giant bill.

He went through the existing gear piece by piece.

He identified what could still be used.

He removed what was worn out, broken, or no longer appropriate to put on one of our players.

Then he researched cost-conscious replacement options to stretch every possible dollar.

And, quite frankly:

COACH SUTHERLAND ABSOLUTELY ATE.

The immediate safety-equipment target is roughly $10,135.

The premium shoulder-pad option alone could have exceeded $32,000.

That means the work Coach already put in has potentially saved the program tens of thousands of dollars while still keeping the focus where it belongs:

Protecting the players.

That matters.

Because every dollar we do not waste is another dollar that can go toward the rest of what a growing three-level football program needs—jerseys, helmets, girdles, pants, practice gear, and the equipment necessary to properly support Freshman, JV, and Varsity players.

A LITTLE FROM MANY CAN SOLVE A LOT

This does not require one person to write one giant check.

A business gives what it comfortably can.

A family gives what it comfortably can.

A former player gives what they can.

A community member gives what they can.

And together, the board moves.

The running total will be updated regularly so supporters can see exactly where the safety-equipment project stands and what remains.

Every contribution moves us closer to one simple goal:

GET THE GEAR.

BUILD THE FRESHMAN TEAM.

PROTECT THE PLAYERS.

STRENGTHEN THE PROGRAM FROM THE GROUND UP.

Because when those freshmen are given the opportunity to develop correctly, they arrive at JV stronger.

When JV develops properly, Varsity becomes stronger.

And when the entire pipeline is healthy, prepared, and protected, the whole program becomes something Mountain Home can be proud of for years to come.

These young men are being asked to serve this community.

They are being taught to show up.

To work.

To give.

To protect.

To provide.

And now we have an opportunity to show them that the same community they are learning to serve will show up for them too.

They are willing to do the work.

Let’s make sure they have the equipment to do it safely.

One Town. One Team. Protecting Tomorrow’s Tigers Today.
