OUR APPROACH (THE HEART BEHIND THE WORK)
I learned early that nothing meaningful is accidental.
When I was six years old, holding my first camera, I wasn’t just taking pictures—I was directing moments.
I remember asking my papa how many photos I could take—because film wasn’t cheap. He looked at me and said, “As many as it takes… just make them count.”
So I did.
I had him sit a certain way, look off into the distance. I watched him for a while—really watched him. I talked to him about life, about nothing and everything at the same time. I took a few steps back, adjusted, waited, breathed. Long, deep breaths.
I didn’t rush it.
As he moved, I moved.
As the moment shifted, I adjusted.
Until it felt right.
I only took a handful of photos.
But I knew.
That photo was his favorite—up until the day he passed—the one without me in it. He always said he looked bad ass in it.
But what I captured wasn’t just a picture.
It was presence. It was story. It was intention.
My papa was building his first company at the time. Long days. Early mornings. Real work. I watched him wrestle with something as simple—and as powerful—as a name. It had to mean something. It had to carry weight. It had to be honest.
I remember standing there as he reached for a cigarette, stress written all over him. I grabbed the pack off the counter before he could. He looked at me quick—firm, but calm—and said, “You have to be better than me. Don’t ever touch those.” As he reached to take them back, I did what any kid raised on football would do—I dodged him.
A quick step to the left, a spin like I’d seen a hundred times on the field, holding onto that pack like it mattered.
And then I stopped.
I turned it—just slightly—until only one word showed.
MERIT.
That was it.
Strong. Honest. Earned.
Even he knew it the second he saw it.
That moment shaped how I see everything.
Because what he taught me wasn’t business—it was how to live.
“Show up early—because the early bird gets the worm.”
“Do what you say—and say when you can’t.”
“Asking for help takes guts and smarts.”
“Tell people how you feel while you can—no one is promised tomorrow.”
“When you feel underappreciated or used—less is more.”
“Everywhere you go, there you are.”
“It’s not about what you have when you die—you can’t take your bank account with you—it’s about the legacy you leave behind.”
That is exactly how I approach every client, every session, every project.
